Review of Hanul AncuteiOur family visit to Hanul Ancutei was a blend of history and local cuisine, making for a pleasant stop during our Romanian travels. The hotel's traditional decor was captivating, echoing the stories we've read in Mihail Sadoveanu's novels. We were there just for one night while heading to Iasi, driven by nostalgia and the desire for adventure. The boys particularly enjoyed the outdoor ambiance and the small flower garden-a perfect backdrop for family photos. We dined on meatball soup and Moldavian sausages, which encouraged discussions about childhood stories. While the food was decent, we found the prices quite steep for the portion sizes, especially for a family of four. Our room initially impressed with its wooden furniture and handmade linens, but we did notice some mould near the windows, which was less ideal. Hanul Ancutei is a viable option for those exploring Romania, especially families craving a historical connection and traditional atmosphere.
